Deanna Silver is the director and creator of the R.E.A.C.H. Enrichment Programs. As a teacher, tutor and parent, Mrs. Silver has made use of many supplemental materials to make learning easier for students. Her philosophy of education has many facets. In particular, she believes comprehension and application are the major skills needed to learn. Mrs. Silver believes, “the more you know, the more fulfilled you become. Opening up a book and exploring its contents has a huge effect on how you view the world around you, which leads to an eagerness to know more.”
Deanna holds a N.J. Teaching Certificate in Secondary English, a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Writing, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education and an Associate of Arts degree in English Literature. She is currently pursuing her Master of Education as a Reading Specialist. Her achievements include, Cum Laude, Dean’s List, and NJ All-State Team for Phi Theta Kappa. Her teaching credentials include volunteer math and english tutoring at OASIS Haven, a shelter in Paterson that offers GED classes for women who have recently been released from prison and reside in halfway homes.
As a student at William Paterson College, Deanna completed her student teaching at Passaic County Technical Institute in Wayne, New Jersey. Currently, Mrs. Silver is a 6th grade teacher at a private Christian Academy located in Paterson, New Jersey where her students are being challenged and nutured.
